The Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Boys Ranch steering committee inspected every nook and corner of the prospective ranch site, including the four-acre fish pond, before making a decision to purchase the Duggan farm. Georgia Sheriffs’ Association closed a deal to purchase 604 acres of choice farmland in Lowndes and Berrien’s counties on October 22, 1959.
