Georgia Sheriffs’ Cherokee Estate

The pastures and meadows of Cherokee Estate near Dalton in Whitfield County provide a peaceful, beautiful setting for the young ladies who live there. Our 100 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains say “home, sweet home” to the girls. The campus has been welcomed by the community, and volunteers contribute in everything from tutoring, to building a playground, to providing holidays and celebrations with the staff and young ladies. Cherokee Estate has a barn, three cottages, a chapel, lakeside pavilion, and gymnasium. The residents are encouraged to participate in activities at school, church and community groups. Each young lady is encouraged to develop into a “whole person,” secure, capable and ready for the next phase of their lives!

For many years, girls have lived at Cherokee Estate where they have found peace and security. Due to this stability, they have developed into well rounded young ladies. Many of them have furthered their education and started families of their own.
